About Liberty Hill Outfitters
Liberty Hill Outfitters, founded by Stephen Crancer and Co-Owned by his daughter Marla, is a family owned and operated upland bird preserve in Rector, Arkansas. The 600+ acre property, located 5 miles north of Rector and was acquired back in 1948 by Stephen’s grandfather, the late Jewel Marlar. Liberty Hill Outfitters offers various guided hunts including upland quail, chukar, and pheasant, as well as Corporate European style tower hunts.
Located on the property is our newly renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom lodge, a cook house, and 4 ponds stocked with bass, catfish, brim, and crappie.

Meet Our Guides
Stephen Crancer, a successful business man and avid outdoorsman is the co-owner and founder of Liberty Hill Outfitters as well as the owner of White & Associates Crancer Agency in Rector, AR. He has been married to his wife Michelle, a retired speech pathologist, for 31 years. They have four children and 1 grandchild. Hayden, the oldest, is the branch manager for Stone Bank in Little Rock Arkansas. The youngest of the children, Landen, Marla, and Grayson are triplets. Landen is a CPA for Frost PLLC, CPA out of Little Rock Arkansas. Marla is the co-owner of Liberty Hill Outfitters as well as a licensed insurance agent. Grayson is a registered nurse for Piggott Community Hospital and is married to Jake Scott. Stephen turned his passion for family and hunting birds into Liberty Hill Outfitters, a guide service that has been bringing together families and the love of outdoors for over 15 years.

Marla Crancer is the co-owner of Liberty Hill outfitters as well as a licensed insurance agent for White & Associates Crancer agency out of Rector, Ar. She graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. Marla has been guiding alongside her dog Bruno, a German shorthaired pointer for over 5 years. She loves hunting, fishing and all aspects of the outdoors. She is a Board Member for the Sandy Ridge Quail Forever Chapter that focuses on the preservation of native quail and their habitat.

Matt Gardner, a Kansas native, is a licensed carpenter, animal lover, and God fearing man. He has been guiding at Liberty Hill Outfitters alongside his dogs for over 6 years. He is married to his wife Kissa of 21 years, and they have two daughters Madison and Kiersten. Matt is a crucial part of the foundation and success at Liberty Hill Outfitters.

Beau Wicker has been guiding at Liberty Hill Outfitters for 3 years, he is also the flood plain coordinator for the Clay County Conservation District. Beau and his wife Tarryn, a registered nurse have a 1 year old daughter, Dallas Kate. Beau loves sharing in the outdoors with his family. You can frequently find Beau, Tarryn, and Dallas out at Liberty Hill Outfitters enjoying all it has to offer.

William Harris, owner of Ridgeland Construction, has been an outdoorsman all of his life. He was formerly a Fishing and wild Quail hunting guide out of Texas and has been guiding alongside his 2 dogs at Liberty Hill Outfitters for the last year. William and his wife Natalie have three sons.
